Getting Married on Taveuni Island Fiji

You will require a marriage license to get married in Taveuni or any other part of the Fiji Islands. The license can be obtained from the Fiji Registry offices. There is an office in the village of Somosomo near the town of Waiyevo. The cost of the license is $20 Fijian and is valid for twenty one days from issue. Your resort or accommodation operator should be able to assist you with the formalities. Most resorts offer this as a special service so check with them regarding costs involved.

  • Your Original Birth Certificates
  • If you are under 21 years of age - you will need a witnessed consent of your father
  • If you are divorced - you will need your divorce papers
  • If you are widowed - you will need the death certificate of the former spouse
